With states opening back up and the general public sick and tired of hearing about COVID-19, it was only a matter of time before citizens rushed to congregate.

Perpetuating this return to social gathering? Memorial Day Weekend.

Leading up to MDW, coronavirus cases were still on the rise. So, it’ll be interesting to see the lingering result from our “holiday” weekend away from the pandemic.

As our nation grows apathetic, how should you continue communicating your firm’s risk management processes and solutions and spreading awareness without turning people (clients) away?

Sprinkle in some light-hearted content.

Since most of us have embraced the fact that the coronavirus pandemic will have a ripple effect on our nation for years to come, you surely will not mention it head-on in every communication moving forward. As we come out of quarantine, are less fearful, and get a little more comfortable with social distancing measures, you should sprinkle in some light-hearted content.

Share how your firm is changing or upholding its corporate culture and taking care of its employees. Softly mention #littlewins. Or if a partner successfully helps a client through a pandemic-related issue, ensure other clients and prospects know you’re available to assist them as well.

Simultaneously, get your thought leaders out there talking about realistic solutions to industry-wide problems since every business will continue being impacted by COVID-19.

There will come a time when a supposed “new normal” hits us, which may consist of 25% of the workforce in an office space. In the meantime (and as we await a vaccine), know that you’ll be addressing coronavirus issues and insights in your communications or perhaps adding it as a disclaimer on your marketing content.

Hope you enjoyed MDW! Now, back to it…
