In her spare time, Rebecca is a staunch advocate for special education. She has served as an elected member of the Citywide District 75 Council focused on the most severely disabled children in New York City’s public school system; testified on special education busing before the New York City Council; and authored numerous New York State Special Education complaints leading to investigations and real changes in the special education of children in New York City. Rebecca has also served as a board member for Families First Brooklyn.
Rebecca’s hobbies include hiking in the mountains, horseback riding, and taking a break from the Big Apple to visit the many independently owned wineries and farms in Upstate New York.
